Background Information
Never before have we produced and consumed as much meat as we do today. In 2017, 323 million tonnes were produced worldwide, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Every year, 65 billion animals are killed (nearly 2,000 animals… per second) and end up on our plates. This massive production is not without consequences for our environment.
Time for a change.
