Know your Neighbour
Connecting people from different communities
Know Your Neighbor (KYN) aims at bringing together refugees and locals through different digital and “pen friend” channels in the views of helping them connect on a personal level.

This regional initiative attempts at addressing future sources of tension between refugees and locals in order to better help integrate refugees in the local society on the longer term.
The KYN team volunteers to facilitate these meetings by going on site to refugee camps in order to spot refugees and match them to locals, based on a few characteristics (age, gender, hobbies). Volunteers will also be responsible for supervising the meetings and defining clear guidelines during the two individuals’ interaction.
Lean more about our team!
On the short run, KYN intends to connect two individuals on an intimate level so they can start developing friendly relationships through dialogue and common interests. On the longer run, our objective is to help prevent local prejudice often resulting in social marginalization and thus, better promoting national scaled stability.
The supervision of the Sciences Po Great Transition department helped the KYN team to maintain drive and energy throughout the execution and development of their initiative.
