As part of the course “The Great Transition” at Sciences Po Paris, we have designed a solution to fight elders’ isolation and abuse in EHPAD. CareJoy is an innovating tool aimed at improving: Time, Quality, and Cost efficiency of EHPAD’s labor force.
In France, more than a million people are over 85 years old today, and by 2050, there will be 4,5 millions of them (including our own parents). Meanwhile, more than 20 millions people will be over 60 years old.
The Silver Economy is expected to create more than 300 000 jobs by 2020. This represents more than 150% growth on the elderly’s labor market.
For the reasons mentioned above, it is urgent to adress the elderly care issue. We must adapt EHPAD means, in terms of housing, living conditions, and medical care, to the elders’ needs.
