This is a Great Transition project aiming to tackle loneliness among farmers. Spring Up consists in a new digital service acting like an intermediary between consumers and local farmers, in order to strenghten the idea of community.
High suicide rates, loneliness and difficult situations among farmers are the issues of the whole population. France is the first Agricultural Power in Europe and is proud of the high quality of its production. We do believe our solutions could help local farmers all over the French territory, by recreating reliable social bonds and human relationships with families and people living around. An efficient way to improve their daily life ! Help us help them, by joining the movement and taking part to something bigger.
Spring Up is an application for smartphone (and a service that will be decline on a website online) aiming to reconnect people with local farmers, acting as an intermediary. You will find all the farmers around a given location (weither it is the one your are currently at or another) and the activities they purpose on specific dates call the “Open Farm Days”, the occasion to spend a moment in family at an informative and instructive place where childrens and adults will have fun close by animals and nature. These activities include but are not limited to: feeding animals, harvesting vegetables, helping produce natural food (jam, butter, cheese, etc.), taking care of animals,…
The application, through a friendly interface will give you all the information needed concerning farmers around you : address, specialities, history, opening hours but will also provide you with the product available at the farm (eggs, vegetables, milk, etc.), the occasion to eat fresher than fresh and healthy food. Also a way to help local farmers with additional incomes, avoiding a lot of intermediaries.
On one hand, farmers will be assisted by member and volunteers of our association in the process and the way to use this new digital service. Volunteers will spend time meeting them, trying to highlight the potential of their farms and which activities coulb be proposed, on which day, and how it could take place. Our members will make sure farmers will know all the features of the app and how to use it at full potential.
On the other hand, users will have access to these information on our user-friendly application, and be able to book activities, or to check which fresh products are available on which specific days.
