‘Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.’
We are a group of 5 students from Sciences Po Paris. With the last letters of our first names, we formed our group name: AAYEE. AAYEE is phonetically equivalent to the Chinese verb: to love.
We believe that it is important to spread love in this era. Recently, we found that young adults aged between 18 to 25 reported problematic level of loneliness. To combat loneliness, more and more people are seeking love and intimacy online. Even though ‘swiping right’ is easier, does it make getting to know people tougher?
To reduce and normalise the feelings of loneliness, we have created a mobile dating app called ‘‘Listen’’. Unlike traditional dating apps where physical appearances and sexual appeals take the priority, ‘‘Listen’’ focuses on voice sharing and aims to build strong, intimate and trusting relationships. Professional psychological assistance will also be provided to prevent negative emotions generated from social media misbehaviours such as ghosting.
With ‘Listen’, we can reduce loneliness, prejudice and ultimately create an inclusive and sustainable society.
