Our project aims to reduce the ecological impact of urban transport by encouraging residents of L île-de-France to take more sustainable mobility choices.
Around 70% of the world’s population will live in cities by 2050. Urban sprawl and population growth are therefore causing more and more citizens to move daily, putting significant pressure on urban mobility systems. 92% of the 12 million Ile-de-France residents travel daily.
While only 20% of Ile-de-France residents use public transport daily, 43% of them use their car. This phenomenon is largely explained by disparities in access to public transport between Paris and its suburbs, a lack of knowledge of existing transport solutions and a preference for simplicity and speed.
Greenway App provides you with the best urban mordern mobility solutions.
Greenway will guide users’ choice towards a more sustainable transport by integrating carbon dimension into route recommendation.
Our project is a response to goal 11 of the UN sustainable development which aims to make our cities more sustainable We want Ile-de-France residents to travel more sustainably based on the available supply, knowing that they tend to favor the quickest and most economical solutions. Our application is based on a socially positive design which aims to guide users’ choice towards a more sustainable transport solution without constraining them.
We integrate the carbon dimension into the route recommendation. To the usual criteria of time, distance and cost of the journey, a fourth aspect will be added: CO2 emissions by chosen mode of transport. The different route options will be classified using an overall score integrating all of these variables.
