In order to measure the impact of our project, we will use key performance indicators (KPIs). KPIs show the progression of a certain task or project towards an objective and thus reveal the strategic and operational improvements needed to reach the expected result.
Some KPI that could be useful for our application:
- The number of consumer and cooks;
- The ratio between the number of downloads and actual use of the application;
- The number and frequency of orders;
- The number of vegan, vegetarian and organic orders;
- Consumer and cook satisfaction;
- The number of complaints;
- The overall ecological impact of the application.
We will need to assess how much an average pollution created by a meal pollutes and how much could be saved if the meal were vegetarian, vegan or organic.
Among these potential indicators, the main indicator will be the number of students (cooks and consumers) using the app, and their frequency of use. They are the easiest to measure and they give a good first idea of the performance of the application. The other indicators might be good to measure in the long run, to see if the application is sustainable and if it really helps
We would also create a comparative database of prices on the app and other food providers, and the estimated ecologic impact or gain.
